About the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Course
The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue specialty transforms you from a passive diver into an active responder in emergency situations. You will learn to recognise signs of stress before they become accidents and execute complete rescue techniques — both at the surface and underwater — in 10–15 hours of intensive training at ALPHAMARIN Dive Center Constanța.
What you will learn
Recognising and preventing stress in diving — panic, overexertion, hypothermia
Self-rescue techniques and assisting a diver in difficulty
Rescuing an unconscious diver from depth and bringing them to the surface
Surface resuscitation and specialised first aid for divers
Managing real emergency scenarios as a team
Programme structure
6 academic sessions — complete theory via the SSI digital platform
3 pool training sessions — rescue simulations in controlled conditions
3 open water rescue dives — techniques applied in the Black Sea, to 18m depth
Participation requirements
SSI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)
Valid first aid certification (max. 2 years old) — e.g. SSI React Right
Minimum age: 12 years
The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification is a prerequisite for SSI professional programmes (Dive Guide, Divemaster) and counts towards Advanced Open Water Diver and Master Diver ratings. One of the most important courses for any serious diver.
