SSI Open Water Diver — Full Scuba Diving Certification

The SSI Open Water Diver course is the most complete and recognised entry-level scuba certification programme. In 16–32 hours, you become an autonomous diver with the right to dive independently to 18 metres — anywhere in the world. The course takes place in the clear waters of the Black Sea at Constanța, with SSI certified instructors at ALPHAMARIN Dive Center.

What you will learn

• Complete safe and autonomous open water scuba techniques

• Perfect buoyancy control and underwater navigation

• Use and maintenance of full scuba diving equipment

• Dive planning and safe dive management

• Emergency procedures, rescue techniques and underwater first aid

• Environmental awareness and responsible behaviour in the marine environment

Programme structure

1. 6 academic sessions — complete interactive theory via the SSI digital platform

2. 6 pool training sessions — practice of all techniques with a certified instructor

3. 4 open water dives — to 18m depth in the Black Sea

Participation requirements

• Minimum age: 10 years

• Basic swimming ability (evaluation test included)

• No prior scuba certification required

Upon completion you receive the SSI Open Water Diver digital certification, recognised in over 100 countries and valid for life. It is the foundation for all advanced SSI courses — Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver and beyond.
