About the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Course
Want more bottom time on every dive? Nitrox — enriched air — is the secret of experienced divers who want less nitrogen in their bodies, shorter surface intervals and greater safety margins. The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox specialty certifies you to dive with mixtures up to 40% oxygen, in 3–6 hours of training at ALPHAMARIN Dive Center Constanța.
What you will learn
Chemistry and physics of oxygen-enriched air (EAN32 and EAN40)
Nitrox dive planning — OTU and CNS calculations
Advantages and limitations of nitrox vs standard air
Nitrox cylinder analysis, labelling and handling procedures
Nitrox diving safety — oxygen toxicity and prevention
Programme structure
4 academic sessions — complete theory via the SSI digital platform
Practical training — nitrox analysis and in-water application, to 30m depth
Participation requirements
SSI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) — or combined with Open Water Diver course
Minimum age: 10 years
Upon completion you receive the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification — depending on the mixture you train with. This specialty counts towards your SSI Advanced Open Water Diver and Master Diver ratings.
