About the SSI Dry Suit Diving Course
The Black Sea at Constanța can drop to 7–8°C in winter — but with a dry suit, the diving season never ends. The SSI Dry Suit Diving specialty teaches you the specific buoyancy techniques, entry/exit procedures and emergency management with a dry suit, in 10–15 hours of training at ALPHAMARIN Dive Center Constanța.
What you will learn
Dry suit types and sealing systems — advantages and disadvantages
Buoyancy control in a dry suit — inflation, deflation and positioning
Entry and exit procedures wearing a dry suit
Emergency management — overinflation, valve detachment
Dry suit maintenance and storage
Programme structure
6 academic sessions — complete theory via the SSI digital platform
1 pool training session — buoyancy control in dry suit
2 open water dives — applying techniques in the Black Sea, to 30m depth
Participation requirements
SSI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)
Minimum age: 12 years
The SSI Dry Suit Diving specialty counts towards Advanced Open Water Diver and Master Diver ratings and allows you to explore the Black Sea regardless of the season.
