SSI Dive Guide — Your First Step in a Professional Diving Career

The SSI Dive Guide course is the first official step in a professional diving career. You will develop the skills and authority to lead certified divers in various conditions and environments — including the fascinating waters of the Black Sea at Constanța. ALPHAMARIN Dive Center provides you with complete training and the ideal environment to become a professional guide.

What you will learn

• Leadership and professional responsibility in guiding diving groups

• Complete dive briefings — site presentation, dive planning, signals and emergency procedures

• Dive site evaluation — currents, visibility, hazards and points of interest

• Assistance and supervision techniques for recreational divers underwater

• Managing emergency situations as a group leader

Programme structure

1. 5 academic sessions — leadership and SSI programme administration

2. 4 pool training sessions — technical demonstrations and student assistance

3. 5 guided dives — leading groups in the Black Sea, to 40m depth

Participation requirements

• Minimum 40 logged dives with at least 25 hours total dive time

• SSI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent

• Minimum age: 18 years

The SSI Dive Guide title allows you to work professionally as a dive guide and continue towards SSI Divemaster and Assistant Instructor. Constanța and the Black Sea coast offer real employment opportunities in the Romanian and European diving industry.
