SSI Programs for Kids at ALPHAMARIN

SSI Seal Team (ages 8–12) — Pool Adventure

Introduces children to the underwater world in a controlled pool environment at 1–2 m depth. Activities are gamified — children complete underwater "missions." Not a formal Open Water certification, but the best starting point for younger children.

SSI Junior Open Water Diver (ages 10–14)

First real scuba certification, equivalent to adult Open Water but with age-based depth restrictions:

  • Ages 10–11: max 12 m, must dive with certified adult

  • Ages 12–14: max 18 m, with certified adult

  • At age 15: automatically upgrades to full Open Water Diver (no restrictions)

FAQ

Is it dangerous for a 10-year-old to dive?

At junior depths (max 12 m) with a dedicated instructor and certified adult present, risks are comparable to common children's sports. SSI has certified tens of thousands of children globally.
