SSI Advanced Open Water Diver
The next step after Open Water. Extends your depth limit to 30 m and adds 5 specialty experiences. Accesses wrecks like Dobruja (32 m).

How the SSI Scuba Diving Course Works
Step 1: Online E-learning
Theory is done on the SSI platform at your own pace, from home — interactive videos, 3D animations and quizzes. You can start weeks before arriving in Constanța.
Step 2: Confined Water Skills
First practical day in shallow water (3–5 m): trim, correct breathing, removing and replacing equipment underwater, controlled ascent. All in a safe environment with your instructor beside you.
Step 3: The 4 Black Sea Open Water Dives
Real dives in the Black Sea with progressive depths: 6 m → 12 m → 18 m. You apply learned techniques and explore Constanța's underwater world — local marine life, rocky reefs, real visibility conditions.
Step 4: Digital SSI Certification
Immediately upon completion you receive your digital SSI certification directly in the SSI app on your phone. Accepted by dive centers worldwide, no expiry date.

How long does the SSI Open Water Diver course take?
3–4 days: e-learning at home (2–6 hours at your own pace) + 2 water days (exercises + 4 dives). You can complete the e-learning before arriving in Constanța.
Can I do the course if I'm not a strong swimmer?
You need to swim 200 m without stopping (no style required) and float or tread water for 10 minutes. You don't need to be a competitive swimmer.
Does the certification expire?
No. The SSI Open Water Diver certification is valid for life. If you haven't dived for a long time, we recommend an SSI ReActivate refresher before your first dive back.
Can I do the course in winter?
Yes, we run courses year-round. In winter thicker wetsuits (7mm) or dry suits are used. Better visibility than summer, no crowds.
